The New York Yankees went into the All-Star Break in second place in the American League East. They have some needs to address before the trade deadline if they want to make a deep run.
The Yankees need a third baseman and perhaps more pitching. However, Brian Cashman has already noted his intention of being aggressive at the trade deadline. Former Yankees superstar Derek Jeter is not taking Cashman's comments with a grain of salt and picked the Yankees to win the World Series over the Chicago Cubs on the FOX Sports All-Star Game postgame show.
"I am going with the New York Yankees," Jeter said. "Yankees are going to beat the (Chicago Cubs) in the World Series. Cashman basically said he’s all-in, so I expect the Yankees to do something at the trade deadline."
The Cubs have one of the best offenses in baseball, but to reach the World Series, they will have to go through the reigning National League champion Los Angeles Dodgers.
Meanwhile, Jeter's former team is the reigning champions in the American League. They have a glaring hole at third base and have been linked to star third baseman Eugenio Suárez.

As it currently stands, the Yankees are not set up for a deep run in October, thanks to the holes on their roster. However, Jeter believes in Cashman's ability to fill their needs at the trade deadline.
