Unreal Caitlin Clark 3-Point Shooting Statistic Emerges Following Fever-Sun

Caitlin Clark has had a rollercoaster season on the court -- so far. While Clark has missed nine games due to injury this season, she has struggled mightily shooting the basketball, especially from 3-point range, even when she's healthy and on the court. Through 13 games played this season, Clark's overall numbers are still impressive.

Caitlin Clark has had a rollercoaster season on the court -- so far. While she remains the unofficial face of the WNBA, and fills NBA arenas with her mere presence, her game on the court has been somewhat of a struggle this season.

While Clark has missed nine games due to injury this season, she has struggled mightily shooting the basketball, especially from 3-point range, even when she's healthy and on the court.

Through 13 games played this season, Clark's overall numbers are still impressive. She's averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, 5.0 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 2.2 made 3-pointers per game.

While these numbers look solid on the surface, and even earned Clark a spot as a team captain for the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game, a deeper dive into her shooting numbers has revealed an unreal shooting statistic that is cause for concern.

Clark has made just two 3-pointers on the road this season.

Yes, Clark has shot 2-for-35 on 3-pointers on the road this season (through five games), while shooting 27-for-69 on 3-pointers at home.

That's just 5.7% on the road compared to 39.1% at home. Overall, Clark is shooting 27.9% from 3-point range and 36.7% from the field.

Compared to last year, Clark's Rookie of the Year season, she shot 34.4% from 3-point range and 41.7% from the field.

Clark's Tuesday night performance didn't boost her percentages either. During the Indiana Fever's third matchup with the Connecticut Sun this season, Clark shot just 1-for-7 from 3-point range inside TD Garden.

There is a lot of speculation as to why Clark is struggling so much on the road compared to at home. Some believe she has played through injury all season while others feel the pressure to be the best shooter, and player, in the world has gotten to her head.

While Clark appeared to reaggravate her groin injury during Tuesday's 85-77 win over the Sun, there is no definitive answer as to why Clark's 3-point struggles have popped up only on the road.

Last season, Clark actually shot better from 3-point range on the road (36.7%) than she did at home (32.3%).

The basketball world will see if she's able to suit up for her next game, a Wednesday matchup against the New York Liberty at 7:30 p.m. EDT on CBS Sports Network.
