The Phoenix Suns have had a long list of franchise legends who have played for their team, though they have not seen a ton of success as a franchise over the years.

Phoenix is still awaiting their first championship in franchise history, though they have reached the NBA Finals three times with their last appearance coming in 2021, which they lost to the Milwaukee Bucks.

While the Suns are still looking for their first championship, they have had quite a few legends suit up in the orange and purple and three of them were named on Bleacher Report’s list of the top 100 players in NBA history.

Among the players representing the Suns on the list are Steve Nash (35), Charles Barkley (25) and Kevin Durant (13).

Of course, Durant’s tenure in Phoenix was one to forget for Suns fans as the star trio of him, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal never clicked, leading to the Suns trading Durant to the Houston Rockets to begin this offseason.

For Nash, he began his career in Phoenix for two seasons in which he struggled but after returning to the franchise in 2005, he became a superstar.

Nash won back-to-back MVP awards in 2004-05 and 2005-06 and was a six-time All-Star and five-time All-NBA selection with them.

Despite Nash’s success, the Suns were never able to reach the NBA Finals during his time there and if he would have entered his prime earlier in his career, he may be much higher on Bleacher Report’s list.

For Barkley, he was a dominant force with the Suns for four seasons, winning his only career MVP award with them in 1992-93.

Of course, Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls hindered Barkley’s chances of winning a title in Phoenix, which is one of the only blemishes on his resume.

While these three players made the list, it is likely only a matter of time before Devin Booker inches closer to adding his name to the list as he has already become arguably the best player in Suns history.
