There’s a lot of excitement surrounding Tuesday’s matchup between the Indiana Fever and the Connecticut Sun. This is the first time these two teams will meet following their feisty encounter on June 17, which saw Sophie Cunningham ejected during the game.

Caitlin Clark was also heavily involved in a number of heated moments during that memorable encounter. The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year, however, also had other things on her mind ahead of tip-off on Tuesday.

According to Fever reporter Chloe Peterson of IndyStar, Clark has decided to take part in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) meetings between the players' union and the league on Thursday in Indianapolis. The 23-year-old herself spoke out about this development before the Sun game, emphasizing the significance of the meetings.

“This is my second year in the league, but also this is also a very important time for our league and where it's going to continue to grow,” she said.

The upcoming round of CBA meetings will take place ahead of the WNBA All-Star Game in Indianapolis, scheduled for July 19. It is expected to be a pivotal event as both teams continue to seek common ground.

According to reports, the headline of any new CBA will center around player salaries. The union could reportedly demand a max salary ceiling of $1 million per year. This would represent an increase of approximately 300% from the current rate, which would also significantly impact the salary cap of teams.

Other areas that will also be discussed reportedly include roster size, chartered flights and maternity and family leaves, to name a few.

Clark is without a doubt one of, if not the most influential, personalities in the league right now. Many consider her to be the face of the WNBA, and her decision to participate in the CBA negotiations will likely have a significant impact on the outcome.
