Ernesto Prince Tavizon reclassifies to 2026, accelerating his path to Eugene
Oregon Football 4-Star Edge Commit Makes Big Recruiting Decision originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
Oregon edge rusher commit Ernesto Prince Tavizon is set to arrive in Eugene sooner than expected.
On Tuesday, the 6-foot-3, 245-pound defender announced he has reclassified from the class of 2027 to 2026, meaning he’ll suit up for the Ducks next fall instead of two seasons from now. The move accelerates the timeline for one of Oregon’s most intriguing long-term prospects and adds another piece to an already strong 2026 class.
Tavizon was rated as the No. 76 overall prospect and No. 13 EDGE in the nation for the 2027 cycle by 247Sports. While he’ll be re-ranked as part of the 2026 class, Tavizon figures to remain a key addition for the Ducks as a physically-imposing defensive presence with obvious upside.
The California native committed to the Ducks over USC, Texas A&M, and Cal, giving Oregon a key recruiting win both on the west coast and nationwide.
Prior to Tavizon’s reclassification, Oregon’s 2026 recruiting class ranked No. 12 in the country. That number is likely to climb with his addition, as the Ducks continue to stack elite talent for next season and beyond.
With Tavizon reclassifying, Oregon’s 2027 class now includes just one commit: fellow 4-star EDGE Cameron Pritchett.
The Ducks will be in action on Saturday, August 30 as they host Montana State. Kickoff is set for 1:00 p.m. PST.
