The Milwaukee Brewers (56-40) entered the all-star break on a tear with a thrilling seven-game winning streak that put them one-game behind the division-leading Chicago Cubs (57-39) in the National League Central.
The Brewers also entered the break with no shortage of recent highlights.
Jacob Misiorowski had an electric start to his Brewers debut and was named to the NL All-Star team on July 11. It was an exceptional honor that also became a lightning rod for controversy, as the sizzling rookie becomes the least-experienced player to ever be named an all-star. Right-hander Freddy Peralta and Trevor Megill also were recognized for their remarkable contributions, with both receiving all-star nods.
The Brewers have had many other unforgettable moments in recent weeks, including Brandon Woodruff's long-awaited return to the mound, and standout performances by Quinn Priester and the rest of Milwaukee's rotation and bullpen. On offense, the Brewers have recently had solid contributions across the roster, including an outstanding debut with his new team for Andrew Vaughn, and a number of rousing walk-off victories, including two in Milwaukee's 6-0 last homestand against the Dodgers and Nationals.
