No. 3 WBB prospect bound for Big Ten sets USA all-time efficiency record at FIBA U19

Team USA beat Israel 114-40 in group phase play Tuesday. Twenty-four points came from the top small forward prospect in the class of 2025, signed to USC.

Women’s basketball greats like Breanna Stewart, Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird, Paige Bueckers and Caitlin Clark have all donned the red, white and blue in a FIBA tournament.

But none of them played with the efficiency that No. 3 overall prospect Jasmine “Jazzy” Davidson is producing right now in the FIBA U19 World Cup Tournament.

The USC Trojans commit received an efficiency tally of 40 for her performance in USA’s explosive 114-40 victory over Israel Tuesday. Davison’s efficiency evaluation is the highest-ever for a Team USA athlete at the competition, eclipsing Joyce Edwards’ 33 in 2023.

"If that's true about the efficiency then that's amazing because there are a lot of great players who have played for USA that I look up to. It's really special," Davidson said after the game

The top ranked prospect at her position, the small forward went 11-for-13 on the floor (84.6%), including two made free throws on three attempts. She recorded 24 points, eight assists, four rebounds, four steals and two blocks in the contest.

“I just think my teammates just put me into really great positions tonight and they made great passes so it made it really easy to get great shots,” Davidson said. “I also love passing to my teammates and rewarding them for running the floor. All of them do such a great job in that.”

Davidson is the sole commit in the Trojans’ 2025 recruiting class. She will be a major addition to a program looking for scoring strength this season amidst Juju Watkins’ injury, and following the departure of graduates Kiki Iriafen, Rayah Marshall, Clarice Akunwafo and Talia von Oelhoffen.
