Where did Golden State Warriors star Jimmy Butler land on the list of the top 100 NBA players of all time?
Where Warriors' Jimmy Butler Ranks Among the NBA's All-Time Greats originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Golden State Warriors have had an abysmal offseason thus far as they have yet to make a move outside of the 2025 NBA Draft.
Of course, the Warriors are still awaiting a decision by restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga, which has cost them a chance to land multiple free agents thus far.
While the Warriors are still looking for upgrades to their roster, one of their star players was named as one of the top 100 players in NBA history on Monday.
That player is Jimmy Butler who landed No. 83 on Bleacher Report’s list of the best players in league history, though he could have been much higher if it wasn’t for a key reason.
“Though the endings of the Jimmy Butler experience can be grating—just ask the Minnesota Timberwolves and Miami Heat—the beginnings and middle are mostly awesome. At the height of his powers, he is a two-way force who serves as a singular bridge between fringe title contention and borderline irrelevance,” Bleacher Report’s NBA staff wrote. “The best version of Butler is anomalous in its completeness. He has long left much to be desired as a jump-shooter, but he can play the part of your top scorer, foul-drawer, passer and defender.”
Bleacher Report’s staff made a great point about Butler’s exits from the Timberwolves and Heat, both of which might have caused him to be this low on their list.
Of course, Butler has put together a great career that consists of him winning the Most Improved Player in 2015, being a six-time All-Star, five-time All-NBA selection and five-time All-Defensive selection.
Most of Butler’s career success came with the Heat, though he also played a key role with the Chicago Bulls during the beginning of his career.
Now he is looking to add a championship to his resume with the Warriors alongside fellow top 100 players in Stephen Curry and Draymond Green.
