There were certainly questions coming into the season about Chicago Cubs outfielder Pete Crow-Armstrong. Instead of worrying about those questions, the youngster proved that he's one of the better players in Major League Baseball, and it's tough to ignore any longer.
Crow-Armstrong will be a starter on Tuesday for the National League All-Star team, and it's well deserved.
However, this should just be the start of the accolades he racks up during his time with the Cubs and in Major League Baseball, and he recently spoke about one of them.
When asked if he wants to play for the Team USA squad in the World Baseball Classic in 2026, Crow-Armstrong admitted that he's in if they ask, noting that he’s played for other USA teams when he was younger.
“Abso-, no question,” Crow-Armstrong answered, per Marquee Sports. “Like, having done the Team USA thing in youth ball, besides this (playing in MLB), the best, most meaningful baseball experience ever. And I’ve been on really good Team USA’s, so abso-(expletive)-lutely I would. I would say yes in a heartbeat. Any position. Any role. I would just go catch the ball.”
Similar to many of the other top players in Major League Baseball who are young like Crow-Armstrong, they played for Team USA growing up.
However, Crow-Armstrong was one of the top high school players in the nation growing up, and was a big piece to those USA teams.
While his role might be a little different this time around because of how young he is, it'd be a great and well-deserved honor for the youngster.
