Terry McLaurin ‘Pretty Frustrated’ With Washington Commanders

The Washington Commanders are coming off their best season since 1991, when they won the Super Bowl under coach Joe Gibbs. One player who greatly benefited from the arrival of Jayden Daniels is two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Terry McLaurin, who racked up 1,096 yards plus 13 touchdowns last season.

But now McLaurin, who’s entering the final year of his contract, wants a new deal. McLaurin has a $25.5 million cap hit for the upcoming season, and a new deal could help reduce that number. Yet, that may not be a big priority for a team that has its quarterback playing on an inexpensive rookie contract.

Nevertheless, McLaurin has voiced his displeasure with his contract situation, and now he’s taking his grievances public.

McLaurin has posted five consecutive 1,000-yard seasons for a team that hasn’t always had consistent play at the QB position. In other words, he feels he’s well-deserving of a raise and more long-term financial security.

While a deal could get done at any time, McLaurin already skipped mandatory minicamp. He reportedly hasn’t decided if he’ll report to Washington’s training camp. Veterans are supposed to report on July 22, so we’ll have our answers soon enough, yet McLaurin hopes it never gets to that point.
