The Ducks' most productive hitter and top starting pitchers were among the players who were selected in the 2025 MLB Draft.
As the 2025 Major League Baseball Draft wrapped up July 14, five Oregon players heard their names called and are now set to kick off their respective professional careers in the coming weeks.
Just as significant for Mark Wasikowski's UO program are the high school signees who were not selected over the course of 20 rounds.
The Ducks' top commit from the class of 2025, catcher Taitn Gray, was drafted in the third round with the 86th overall pick by the Tampa Bay Rays. Gray's pick value is estimated to be $920,800, which he would have to turn down to sign with the Ducks and compete collegiately next season.
The 6-foot-4, 220-pound standout backstop was the only UO signee drafted, though. That means the majority of Oregon's highly-touted recruiting class, which Perfect Game lists as the 24th-best in the nation, will likely make it to campus.
That includes catcher Brayden Jaksa, outfielder Angel Laya and infielder Malosi Mata’afa-Alferos.
Still, Wasikowski and his staff will have plenty of work to do this offseason if they hope to improve on last season's run to the NCAA regionals. The five Ducks selected all played major roles on the 2025 squad.
Mason Neville, who tied for the national lead with 26 homers last season, went 114th overall to the Cincinnati Reds. Neville's slide to the fourth round came as a bit of a surprise; MLB.com tabbed him as the No. 35 overall prospect available.
Additionally, the Ducks will have to replace their top two starting pitchers, their all-time home run leader and a versatile star who is coming off a breakout season.
