Peers have officially ranked Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott as the 79th best player in the NFL heading into the 2025 season.

Every offseason, the NFL releases a list of the Top 100 players in the league based on rankings by the players, with Prescott now receiving one of his lower rankings in recent memory.

Prescott, who entered the 2024 season as the league’s highest-paid player, was sidelined for nine games with a hamstring injury, causing him to post one of the toughest statistical campaigns of his career.

The three-time Pro Bowler finished last season with just 1,978 passing yards and 11 touchdowns, marking the worst finishes of his career since the 2020 season, when he played in just five games.

Additionally, Prescott racked up eight interceptions while leading the Cowboys to a record of only 3-5 in the eight games that he started.

Despite a 7-10 finish for the Cowboys and the eventual departure of head coach Mike McCarthy, Prescott’s inclusion makes him the first Dallas player recognized on this year’s countdown, demonstrating immense respect from players around the league.

However, this ranking also marks a distinct dropoff from the last listing, which had Prescott ranked as the 16th best player in the NFL heading into the 2024 season.

Although Prescott was the first Cowboys player revealed on this list, there are likely still more players who will be announced at a later date.

Cowboys defensive end Micah Parsons and wide receiver Ceedee Lamb are both widely expected to be named near the top of this list, though exact rankings remain unclear at this time.

Now, Prescott, Parsons, and Lamb will look to once again flip the script and lead the Cowboys to another successful regular season, with expectations high for this team entering next year.

Dallas has brought in many new faces throughout this offseason, both on the coaching staff and the roster.

The two biggest moves of the offseason for this team included the hiring of Head Coach Brian Schottenheimer and the trade to acquire wide receiver George Pickens, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
