Candace Parker shared a surprising take on Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese.

Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky saw their two-game winning streak snap on Monday night, falling to 7-14 on the 2025 WNBA season with a 91-78 loss to the Minnesota Lynx.
Despite the loss, Reese put up one of her better performances of the year, tallying 22 points on 9-of-14 shooting, 10 rebounds and three assists. This also marked her ninth consecutive double-double.
Reese's play during her second season earned her another WNBA All-Star appearance, averaging 13.6 points, 12.8 rebounds and a career-high 3.8 assists through 21 games.
However, WNBA and Los Angeles Sparks legend Candace Parker doesn't think Reese has performed well enough to be considered a top option on a contending team.
On Monday, Parker joined Complex Sports to rank some of the WNBA’s top stars, placing them on a tier list ranging from S to D. Notably, she had Reese in one of the lower tiers.
"Then you got Angel Reese," Parker said. "I put her right at that C level, I think in terms of being above, you have to be able to have the ability to carry your team. Be a one or two-option. I think Angel Reese is fantastic at her role, which is offensive rebounding. She showed and demonstrated so much growth in that first year."
Parker also included Los Angeles Sparks star Cameron Brink in the same tier as Reese, even though she hasn't played in a year due to a torn ACL.
"So I put Cameron Brink on the C level," Parker added. "I think just in terms of her kind of showing glimpses of what she's capable of. I think WNBA with the space and her length and versatility, she's going to be able to have an impact on the defensive end immediately."
Only three players made Parker's S tier: the Aces' A'ja Wilson, the Lynx's Napheesa Collier and the Liberty's Breanna Stewart.
Reese and the Sky will continue their season against Brittney Griner and the Atlanta Dream on Wednesday at noon ET.
