Feyenoord have made an initial offer for Valentín Gómez, according to Feyenoord Transfermarkt and VoetbalPrimeur on Monday evening.
The Rotterdam team reportedly submitted a bid of over five million euros to CA Vélez Sarsfield, and the Argentinians rejected the offer. However, Feyenoord intend to submit a second offer soon.

Feyenoord Transfermarkt reported Monday evening that Gómez had made an initial offer to Vélez Sarsfield for the club. Van Persie’s side reportedly submitted a €5.1 million offer to Vélez Sarsfield, who rejected it. However, negotiations aren’t over yet: Feyenoord are quickly expected to present a second offer to Argentina soon.
A few days ago, Feyenoord Transfermarkt was the first to report Feyenoord’s concrete interest in Gómez. This was quickly confirmed by Voetbal International and RTV Rijnmond. Gómez is a 22-year-old left-footed central defender from Argentina, who is being considered “for the role of Facundo González.” González spent last season on loan in Rotterdam, but only played a handful of matches.
Transfermarkt estimates Gómez, who can also play as a left-back, to be worth ten million euros. However, because his contract expires at the end of 2026, Feyenoord appears to have to pay less. Gómez was previously close to transfers to Palermo and Udinese, but those were scrapped at the last minute: a year ago. The Argentine youth international failed his medical at Palermo, while Udinese couldn’t secure the transfer financing after the medical.
