Aaron Judge and Former Yankee Reuniting at Top of All-Star Lineup

Aaron Judge will have a familiar face at the top of the lineup with him at the All-Star Game in Atlanta tomorrow night. According to Cody Stavenhagen on X, former Yankees’ second baseman Gleyber Torres is batting lead off for the American League squad. This is the first season after the Yankees let Torres walk out the door during free agency for nothing in return.

According to Cody Stavenhagen on X, former Yankees’ second baseman Gleyber Torres is batting lead off for the American League squad. Judge will be hitting third in the order.

Torres and Judge did not have to wait long to reunite as teammates. This is the first season after the Yankees let Torres walk out the door during free agency for nothing in return.

Mainstays at the top of the Yankees order the last few seasons, the duo was usually close to each other in the order, even when Torres would be moved to the cleanup spot.

Torres has found immediate success in his new home. Hitting the best he has in his career at .281, Torres is a main contributor on a Detroit Tigers team that has the best record in MLB. An experienced bat that can be inserted anywhere in the order, he will make some slick plays out at second seem routine.

Judge is in the midst of his fourth-consecutive unstoppable season. Also hitting a career-high, Judge’s .355 batting average is absurd for anybody, let alone a dude who has been averaging over 50 homers a year. Also supplying Gold Glove-level defense in right field every night, Judge should be able to cruise to the third AL MVP of his career. He was always going to be in Atlanta this summer.

Tomorrow night will be a nice reminder to Yankees fans that they have the best player in all of baseball. Seeing Gleyber succeeding and happy, however, should rile up plenty of people to fire off some angry tweets at Brian Cashman. Deservedly so, this time.
