Chicago Sky star Angel Reese received a message from the WNBA legend.
WNBA Legend Lisa Leslie Had Two Words for Angel Reese on Monday originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Chicago Sky moved up to 10th place in the league standings after Saturday's upset win over the 18-4 Minnesota Lynx. Chicago now owns a 7-13 record during the 2025 WNBA season after the 87-81 victory.
Chicago was able to overcome MVP frontrunner Napheesa Collier's 26-point, eight-rebound, five-assist, three-steal, and three-block performance thanks to a well-rounded effort. Veteran guard Ariel Atkins led the way for the Sky with a game-high 27 points.
Second-year post players Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso also played incredibly well, with Reese chipping in 19 points, 11 rebounds and four assists for her eighth-straight double-double. Cardoso also added 17 points and 15 rebounds in her return to the starting lineup.
Reese has enjoyed two historic WNBA seasons thus far, as she is already a two-time All-Star with numerous rebounding and double-double records to her name. This has allowed her to form relationships with legendary players like Lisa Leslie, a Hall of Fame center.
On Sunday, Reese made a post on Instagram just a day after the team's big win over the Lynx. Leslie responded to her post with a few simple words for the WNBA's rising star.
"Pretty Baller❤️," Leslie wrote.
After a slow start to the 2025 campaign, Reese is now averaging 13.6 points and 12.8 rebounds per contest. She is also contributing a career-best and team-high 3.8 assists per game for the Sky.
The Chicago Sky will play against Minnesota once again on Monday evening, as they host the Lynx at Wintrust Arena for the second consecutive matchup. Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET.
