The Los Angeles Dodgers have a strong contingent heading to Atlanta for the All-Star Game. Part of the group from the Dodgers is manager Dave Roberts, who will manage the NL team for the All-Star Game.
While Roberts hasn't finalized when everyone is going into the game, he does have a plan for All-Star pitcher Clayton Kershaw. Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic shared Roberts' plan with Kershaw during the All-Star Game.

"Clayton Kershaw will pitch in the All-Star Game, Roberts said." Ardaya wrote. "Roberts said he's planning on getting him in in the earlier part of the game."
In year 18, Kershaw was named an All-Star as MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred's "Legends Pick." While he doesn't have the statistical profile of an All-Star, a 3.38 ERA, 4-1 record, and 35 strikeouts through 50.2 innings, he was given the All-Star nod for his career accomplishments.
He reached 3,000 strikeouts this season and has 216 wins. The Dodgers legend is on his way to the Hall of Fame, and his 11th All-Star nod this season is in recognition of his incredible career.
At 37 years old, the Dodgers starter will enter the All-Star Game for the first time since 2022. In his 10 previous years as an All-Star, Kershaw has made an appearance in seven All-Star Games.
In the first four appearances, in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014, Kershaw went four innings without allowing a run, giving up two hits, one walk, and striking out two.
But, in 2015, he finally allowed his first earned run(s) in the All-Star Game. He went one inning again, but allowed three hits and two earned runs. Four years later, in 2019, Kershaw allowed one run on two hits in one inning pitched.
After back-to-back All-Star appearances resulting in earned runs, he returned to his early-career self in 2022, going one inning and not allowing a run on one hit, one walk, and one strikeout.
In 2025, after 18 years in the majors, Kershaw will have his eighth chance to pitch in the All-Star Game. Based on Roberts' plan, his appearance will come earlier in the game, potentially in the third or fourth inning, depending on how well Paul Skenes does in his start for the NL in the All-Star Game.
In what's been an incredible career for Kershaw, he'll have one more chance to add to his All-Star resume this season when he can pitch against the American League lineup on Tuesday, July 15th.
