Manchester City talent James McAtee remains a target for Atalanta, Milan and Fiorentina, but Eintracht Frankfurt invited him to view their facilities.
The creative midfielder is a product of the Manchester City youth academy, but looking for more regular first team football, which he has realised he won’t get in his current club.
He was one of the stars of the England side that won the European Under-21 Championship last month and is hot property on the transfer market.
McAtee linked with several Serie A clubs
Atalanta are the Serie A side most strongly linked with his services, although Milan and Fiorentina were also mentioned.
Now all of them risk missing out, as transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano reports McAtee was invited to visit the Eintracht Frankfurt facilities and he is in Germany today for this look around his potential new club.
It remains to be seen if this is a one-off, or if the 22-year-old is planning similar meetings in person with Atalanta and others around Europe too.
He contributed seven goals in 27 competitive appearances for Manchester City last season, despite only starting nine of those games.
