There were plenty of elite Cheboygan-area girls athletes during the 2024-25 high school year. Be sure to vote on who you think was the best.
CHEBOYGAN – We’re right in the heart of summer, but that doesn’t mean we can’t continue to recognize some of the best athletes in the Cheboygan area for the 2024-25 school year.
On the girls side, there were plenty of standouts throughout the course of the three seasons.
Be sure to cast your vote on who you think was the best girls athlete in the Cheboygan area. The poll opens on Monday morning and closes at 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
Here’s the nominees:
Tessa Lake, Cheboygan – It was a big junior year for Lake, who was named to the Northern Shores Conference first teams in volleyball and softball. Recently, Lake was recognized as the Tribune’s 2025 softball player of the year and earned all-region accolades as well.
Presley Chamberlain, Cheboygan – In volleyball and softball, Chamberlain excelled and picked up Northern Shores first team accolades in both.
Cloee Rupp, Cheboygan – In cross country, basketball and track and field, Rupp was one of the best three-sport athletes in the area. Among her top accolades included all-conference in cross country and Northern Shores first team in basketball.
Chloe Robinson, Inland Lakes – Earned all-conference honors in volleyball, basketball and track and field. She was named the Daily Tribune’s 2025 girls basketball player of the year and was also a state qualifier during track.
Brooklyn LaBrecque, Inland Lakes – Arguably the best three-sport athlete in the area, LaBrecque made the all-Ski Valley first team in volleyball, basketball and softball.
Elizabeth Furman, Inland Lakes – An all-conference performer in cross country, basketball and track and field, Furman delivered a superb sophomore campaign in all three sports. She was named the Daily Tribune's 2024 cross country runner of the year.
Kenzlie Currie, Mackinaw City – Had an impressive sophomore season that included earning all-conference honors in basketball and softball.
Ema DeMaestri, Onaway – An excellent three-sport athlete, DeMaestri picked up all-conference accolades in volleyball, basketball and softball.
Grace Watson, Onaway – Watson was outstanding during her senior volleyball year, earning all-conference and all-state honors and being named the Daily Tribune’s 2024 volleyball player of the year.
Charlotte Box, Onaway – As a senior, Box earned all-conference honors in basketball and softball.
Lanie Irwin, Pellston – During her junior year, Irwin earned all-conference in volleyball and softball.
