Cincinnati Reds select prep right-hander Aaron Watson with 51st pick in 2025 MLB draft

Florida high school right-hander Aaron Watson, who throws a low-90s sinking fastball, is the Cincinnati Reds' second-round pick in the 2025 MLB draft.

ATLANTA – The Cincinnati Reds selected Florida high school pitcher Aaron Watson with the 51st overall pick of the 2025 MLB draft.

Watson is a 6-foot-5 right-hander from Trinity Christian Academy who has a low-to-mid-90s sinker.

The recommended slot value for that second-round pick is about $1.9 million of the Reds' $11.84 million bonus pool allotment.

The Reds selected Alabama high school shortstop Steele Hall with their first-round pick, ninth overall.
