Fever Coach Stephanie White Doesn't Hold Back on Paige Bueckers After Indiana's Dominant Win

Stephanie White made her opinion clear.

Fever Coach Stephanie White Doesn't Hold Back on Paige Bueckers After Indiana's Dominant Win originally appeared on Athlon Sports.

It was Caitlin Clark who emerged victorious in the highly anticipated matchup against Paige Bueckers as the Indiana Fever blew out the Dallas Wings on Sunday, 102-83.

The Fever made it back-to-back wins following their 99-82 victory against the Atlanta Dream on Friday, which now has Indiana improving to 11-10 on the season.

Clark still struggled with her shot, though, going just 4-of-12 from the field and 2-of-7 from beyond the arc for 14 points. The recently crowned WNBA All-Star Game captain, however, made up for it by dishing out 13 assists, to go along with three rebounds, five steals and a block in just 25 minutes of action.

Bueckers wasn’t bad herself, scoring a game-high 21 points on 9-of-15 from the field, with four boards, four assists, two steals and two triples in the loss. It was far from her best performance in her fledgling WNBA career, but the rookie’s performance left Fever head coach Stephanie White impressed.

"She always stays neutral,” White said of Bueckers after the game, via Moreau Sports Media Prod Co. on X. “She doesn't get rushed, her pace, her poise, her decision making…when you play somebody that is really high IQ and is elite in all areas…and they just try and maintain that flow, it makes it tough.

“That’s the difference between good players and great players. It’s fun to watch, not an as opponent on the sideline...for Paige she’s figuring it out."

White had some high praise for Bueckers after seeing her skills on the court on full display. As the Fever shot-caller said, the 23-year-old guard still hasn’t fully adjusted to the WNBA game, which only means that she’s only going to get better in time.

The Fever and the Wings go at it again on August 1 in Dallas, and it will be very interesting to see how Bueckers bounces back in that one after going down 0-1 against Clark.
