The Indiana Fever nabbed their second consecutive win with a dominant 102-83 victory over the Dallas Wings on June 13.
Fever guard Caitlin Clark, in her third game back since returning from a groin injury, recorded 14 points, a season-high 13 assists, and a career-high five steals. The Indiana team as a whole registered 30 assists, tying the single-game franchise record.
"I think we were just kinda firing on all cylinders," Clark told reporters after the game. "Moving the ball well, getting to the next action, playing out of pick and roll well. Just really proud of this group, of how we share the ball, and it makes us really hard to guard."
Indiana put up 64 points in the first half alone -- the most points scored by a team in any first half this season, per ESPN Stats and Info.
Kelsey Mitchell put up a team-high 20 points. Natasha Howard score 18 points, Aliyah Boston (17), and Sophie Cunningham (13). "When we have 5 people in double figures, I feel like we're gonna be pretty hard to beat," Clark said.
While Clark and the Fever gave fans a lot to celebrate on Sunday, the WNBA's 2024 Rookie of the Year had another big occasion to commemorate, boyfriend Connor McCaffery's birthday.
Clark sent McCaffery, who works as assistant coach for the Butler Bulldogs, a heartfelt message on Instagram.
She posted several photos of the couple and wrote, "happy happy happy birthday con🥳 you make everyday better and I couldn’t be more grateful. may this be the best year yet , i love you 🖤🖤."
The 23-year-old two-time All-Star and McCaffery celebrated their two year anniversary in April.
