After 144 years, the Pittsburgh Pirates are back in neutral.
Somehow, the Pirates have won exactly as many games as they've lost, a stretch that dates back to their inaugural season as 1992.
They've fallen back to .500 all-time because of an eight-game losing streak. The Twins and cycle-hitting Byron Buxton beat Pittsburgh on Saturday.
The Pirates' all-time record: 10,877-10,877.
According to reporter Kody Duncan, the last time the franchise was at .500 or worse was in 1903.

The Pirates have won five World Series titles, although it hasn't all been that pretty lately.
Pittsburgh hasn't had as good a run in the last two decades or so. Since 2007, they're 1,321-1,586, per SI.
The Pirates didn't appear in the playoffs any year from 1993 to 2012.
In 2013 through 2015, they earned a Wild Card three straight seasons. The Pirates haven't been back to the playoffs since, and it won't be happening this year, either.
They'll have to win Sunday to stay above water in franchise history.
