White Sox legend Paul Konerko given the coolest gift by Pope Leo XIV

This is awesome.

There was an extra bit of holiness in Chicago on Saturday.

The Chicago White Sox celebrated the 20th anniversary of their 2005 World Series title, and one gift came their way all the way from the Vatican.

Pope Leo XIV sent a jersey to first base superstar Paul Konerko. And not only did the jersey put both their names on the back, it also featured an autograph from the pope.

Pope Leo XIV was previously cardinal Robert Prevost, who was born and raised in Chicago.

He's a confirmed White Sox fan, and there is footage of him in attendance at that 2005 World Series.

Clearly, he has great memories of that time.

It's probably safe to say that there aren't a lot of baseball jerseys out there with the signature of the pope on them.

That Konerko pinstriped top is one of one.
