Real Madrid’s academy generates €10 million in revenue from two sales – report

While Real Madrid have historically been a club known for making big money signings, their academy is one of the best-selling academies in the world, and to an extent, compensates for the financial strain created by the first-team operations.

This summer too, Florentino Perez has not held back in terms of completing first-team signings and snapped up Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dean Huijsen, and Franco Mastantuono in record time.

Unsurprisingly, La Fabrica has once again struck with golden transactions in terms of sales, and while the amount may not be close to that which was spent by the first team, it is worth its weight in gold.

Two sales in an hour

As relayed by MARCA in a recent report, Real Madrid’s academy generated a revenue of €10 million in just an hour over two independent transactions yesterday.

First, the official transfer of Victor Munoz to Osasuna was announced at around 7:00 PM, and in less than an hour, Benfica announced the signing of Rafel Obrador from the club as well.

Both deals involved a €5 million transfer fee, thus adding €10 million into the coffers of Real Madrid at a time when one least expected it.

The Spanish outlet, however, confidently relays that this is just the beginning of Real Madrid’s selling spree in the academy with as many as 15 players set to be affected.

The likes of Yusi, Jacobo Ramon, Mario Martin, and Chema are all players whose future the board is yet to decide and who would leave for reasonable sums in the coming weeks.

Alvaro Rodriguez, who is on loan at Getafe, is also expected to leave for a decent sum.

As relayed earlier today, the first team will not be spared either with four players close to a departure this summer. The coming weeks will be decisive.
