Every player in Philadelphia 76ers history who has worn the No. 22

Here is a list of every player in the history of the Philadelphia 76ers who has worn the No. 22 uniform.

It’s summertime in the NBA, so it’s time to learn some history. The Philadelphia 76ers are one of the older franchises in the NBA. Their history dates to the 1949-50 season.

With that longevity, the team has had hundreds of players come through the City of Brotherly Love. Sixers Wire looks at the No. 22 which has been worn by a whopping 20 of those players in the history of the franchise. This running series will go through all of the uniform numbers worn in franchise history.

Here is the list of the 20 players who have worn No. 22 in Sixers history:

Lee Shaffer

Shaffer played three seasons in the NBA for the Syracuse Nationals, and he was an All-Star in 1963. He averaged 16.8 points and 6.3 rebounds during his time with the franchise.

Jerry Greenspan

Greenspan played in 25 games across two seasons with the Sixers while donning the No. 22, and he averaged 4.9 points and 3.3 rebounds.

Jesse Branson

Branson played a grand total of five games for the Sixers in the 1965-66 season, and he averaged 1 point and 1.8 rebounds.

Kevin Loughery

Loughery played 106 games for the Sixers across two seasons, and he averaged 13 points and 3.2 assists during those games.

Larry Jones

Jones wore two numbers during his time in Philadelphia. He wore No. 22 for one of those seasons, and he averaged 10 points and 3.2 assists during that season.

Connie Norman

Norman played 77 games for the Sixers across two seasons, and he averaged 5.6 points and 1.5 rebounds while donning the No. 22.

Perry Warbington

Warbington played five games for Philadelphia wearing the No. 22, and he averaged 2 points and 3.2 assists.

Eric Money

Money played in 29 games for Philadelphia across two seasons, and he averaged 10.4 points and 3.4 assists during those games.

Andrew Toney

Also known as “The Boston Strangler,” Toney is the most decorated of any Sixer who has worn the No. 22 in team history. He was a two-time All-Star who averaged 15.9 points and 4.2 assists and was an NBA champion with the Sixers in 1983.

Jim Farmer

Farmer played two games for the Sixers while donning the No. 22, and he averaged 3 points and 2.5 rebounds.

Jim Jackson

Jackson played in 48 games with 47 starts at the beginning of the 1997-98 season before being sent to the Golden State Warriors in a trade. He averaged 13.7 points and 4.7 rebounds with 4.6 assists for Philadelphia.

Brian Shaw

Shaw was acquired from the Warriors in the Jackson deal, and he played 20 games for Philadelphia while donning the No. 22 uniform. He averaged 6.1 points and 4.4 assists with the Sixers.

Antonio Daniels

Daniels played four games for the Sixers toward the end of the 2010-11 season, and he averaged 1.5 points and 1.3 rebounds.

Richaun Holmes

Holmes began his career in Philadelphia, and he averaged 7.4 points and 4.2 rebounds as an energetic big man off the bench. He is now with the Sacramento Kings.

Wilson Chandler

Chandler played 36 games, starting 32 of them, in the 2018-19 season and averaged 6.7 points and 4.7 rebounds while shooting 39% from deep. He was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers in the Tobias Harris deadline deal.

Matisse Thybulle

Thybulle spent 3.5 seasons in Philadelphia averaging 4.4 points, 1.5 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game. He has been one of the better perimeter defenders in the league since entering in 2019, but his 3-point shot and overall offense has been erratic. He is now with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Patrick Beverley

Beverley played 47 games for the Sixers to begin the 2023-24 season and averaged 6.3 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists before he was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks at the trade deadline. He started five of those 47 games.

Cam Payne

Payne was acquired from the Bucks in the Beverley deal and he averaged 9.3 points and 3.1 assists in 31 games for Philadelphia. He shot 38.2% from deep for the Sixers and made an impact in the playoffs before signing with the New York Knicks in the 2024 offseason.

Pete Nance

Nance played seven games for the Sixers in the 2024-25 season and averaged 2.1 points and 1.4 rebounds.

Oshae Brissett

Brissett played six games for Philadelphia in the 2024-25 season and averaged 8.7 points and 3.7 rebounds. He gave the Sixers another body when considering the injuries piling up.
