Kentucky volleyball is about to begin its journey to hopefully winning a ninth straight SEC championship, but a challenging non-conference slate will test the Wildcats first.
This weekend, No. 7 Kentucky will kick off the 2025 campaign with a doubleheader in Nashville. Craig Skinner’s group will ease their way into the year with Saturday’s season-opener against Lipscomb. But the real fun comes on Sunday at Bridgestone Arena when Kentucky takes on No. 1 Nebraska (noon ET on ABC). Nebraska will be the first of five top-10 non-conference opponents on the docket for UK, not counting the two other teams receiving votes in the preseason poll.
Sunday’s match will be a big test for the ‘Cats.
To preview what’s to come this weekend, Skinner, along with players Brooklyn DeLeye (the reigning SEC Player of the Year) and Molly Tuozzo, met with reporters Thursday afternoon to talk about Nebraska and their general thoughts on the start of the season. You can hear everything they had to say below. Kentucky will face Lipscomb on Saturday at 3:00 p.m. ET on ESPN+.
