The Knicks may turn to a proven shooter to round out their roster.

The New York Knicks’ roster is nearly set for the 2025-26 campaign, though the club still has room to add one more player on a veteran-minimum contract this offseason.
Several names have been tied to the Knicks for their final roster spot, including Ben Simmons, Landry Shamet, Malik Beasley and Malcolm Brogdon. Another potential option is three-point specialist Seth Curry, who is a career 43.3 percent shooter from beyond the arc.
Curry spent the 2024-25 campaign with the Charlotte Hornets and has bounced around the league recently, suiting up for four teams in the past four seasons. His consistent outside shooting is likely to draw interest from multiple teams, and a veteran-minimum deal seems to be a realistic price for the Duke product.
NBA writer urges Knicks to look at Seth Curry
Curry has proven to be a reliable backup guard, and James L. Edwards of The Athletic believes the Knicks could benefit from adding him to their championship-caliber roster.
“It doesn't hurt to have a surplus of players who can hit 3s, and few are more accurate than Curry,” he wrote. “He led the NBA in 3-point percentage last year at 45.6 (only 2.7 attempts per game) and has shot less than 40 percent from 3 only once over his last seven seasons.”

While the Knicks are likely to explore adding a player like Beasley on a discount, Curry remains a strong option to back up Mikal Bridges. He would face competition for playing time with Miles McBride and Jordan Clarkson off the bench, but Curry's consistency from beyond the arc would likely land him a meaningful role.
The 35-year-old would also provide veteran leadership and could help mentor the club's young players such as Tyler Kolek and Pacome Dadiet.
Although the best years of Curry's career are behind him, his shooting and experience could still make him a difference-maker for a New York squad coming off a loss in the Eastern Conference finals.
