All eyes are on TexasQB Arch Manning ahead of his true debut this weekend. ESPN’s Chris Fowler is just as ready as everyone else to see not just how he plays, but how he handles being the college superstar he has already become.

Fowler sat down on ‘Get Up’ this morning to preview the upcoming season, including the arrival of Arch. He noted the hype around Manning, as he provided some of their analytics, and the spotlight that has centered on him as we come into kickoff.

“Well, the target is on the whole team, but the target is mainly on him,” said Fowler. “I mean, if you look at the research, and we’ve done this at ESPN? He is, by far, the most hyped, crossover star in the sport by a factor of 13. That many people want to see him play, are curious about how he’s going to do.”

“I think he’s well-equipped to handle it,” Fowler added. “I mean, he was brought up right, he’s pretty grounded.”

Manning is a few days out from his first appearance as the full-time starter for the Longhorns, after having been their backup for two years now. He has only been built up more and more, beyond just because of his last name, since his arrival, leading into this weekend when he’ll be Texas’ QB1.

Still, Fowler doesn’t think Manning even needs to come out and be the best quarterback or player in college football. He already sees a very good prospect in him who won’t need to do to much for them to find success this season on The 40 Acres.

“You’ve got a great defense on the other side. You’ve got playmakers. You’ve got a very complete team,” said Fowler. “Arch can do it. Not many quarterbacks can house it from 70 yards. He can throw it beautifully. We haven’t seen much of that in big games yet, but it’s very evident when you watch him practice. The ball comes out of his hand beautifully.”

Sarkisian says don’t go try to be Superman because he’s seen Arch maybe try to press the ball down field, be a little of a gunslinger – which was not what Sark wanted to see from him,” Fowler said. “Now, he’s going to have to unleash his talent. He’s going to have to make plays in big moments. It’s a tough schedule they’ve got ahead, but I cannot wait to him in that environment (in Columbus).”

No. 1 Texasvs.No. 3 Ohio Statein Columbus will officially open the season for millions of fans watching on Saturday. A big part of that, though, will be the first appearance of this year for Manning, which will start what’s to be a season-long storyline in the sport

“I can’t wait to see how he performs, and all eyes are on him, really, from the first snap,” said Fowler.
