Nothing but love from these two.
Caitlin Clark, Kate Martin Show Mutual Love After Valkyires Blow Out Fever originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The Golden State Valkyries spoiled Caitlin Clark's return from a five-game injury absence on Wednesday afternoon. This is after the Valkyries came to Gainbridge Fieldhouse to utterly dominate the home team, en route to an 80-61 blowout win.
Clark showed signs of rust in her return from an extended spell on the sidelines. The recently crowned WNBA All-Star Game captain finished with just 10 points on 4-of-12 shooting, to go along with five rebounds, six assists, two triples and four turnovers in 25 minutes of action.
Clark, though, had the opportunity to reunite with one of her former Iowa teammates during the game. Kate Martin, who joined Golden State in the offseason via a trade deal from the Las Vegas Aces, came to town to help the Valkyries take down the Fever. These two spent four years together with the Hawkeyes, and there's no denying that they formed a strong bond during their stint as teammates.
Fever photographer Bri Lewerke posted a set of photos featuring Clark and Martin from Wednesday's game. This gave both players the opportunity to send some love on social media.

Martin was the first among the two to comment, saying, "I love her!"
Clark did not respond directly to Martin's remark, but she expressed her affection with a wordless comment. "🩵🩵🩵🩵🩵" she posted.
Martin got just her second start of the season for the Valkyries on Wednesday, and she responded by registering five points, two rebounds and one three-pointer in 19 minutes of action.
Golden State improved to 10-9 with the win, overtaking Indiana in the standings, which has now fallen to 9-10 after Wednesday's unexpected defeat.
