The Chicago Sky currently have a 5-13 record during the 2025 WNBA season heading into Wednesday evening's matchup against the 6-14 Dallas Wings. The Sky have lost three of their last four games.

Second-year forward Kamilla Cardoso, who made the All-Rookie team in 2024, has been absent from the team for the last four contests. She was fulfilling an overseas commitment with her home country, Brazil, at the FIBA Americup tournament.

Cardoso returned to the United States on Tuesday, but not in time for the team's game against the Washington Mystics, which they lost by a score of 81 to 79.

For Wednesday's game, however, Cardoso is active and will return to play for Chicago. She has started all 14 games that she has appeared in this season, as well as 43 of her 46 career WNBA games.

However, in her first matchup back after returning from leave, first-year Sky head coach Tyler Marsh opted to bring Cardoso off the bench and will instead start veteran center Elizabeth Williams.

"starting 5️⃣," the Sky wrote.

Williams is coming off a season-high 20 points against the Mystics on Tuesday. She started in Cardoso's place for three of the four games that she missed, and Wednesday will mark Williams' fourth consecutive start.

Cardoso has seen an increase in her scoring average from last season, as she is now contributing 12.7 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. In her last game before departing, she recorded a career-high 27 points in a win over the Los Angeles Sparks.
