These weren't just any home runs for Jazz Chisholm.
And it was about more than just the milestone reached by the New York Yankees' star en route to a rivalry win on Sunday night over the Boston Red Sox.
Chisholm also played with a heavy heart.
In the process, he went deep twice to move to 101 career home runs.
He paid homage to a close friend afterward when speaking with reporters.
"It felt kind of surreal," Chisholm said. "I lost my best friend yesterday. Today felt like a different type of day."

Chisholm's swings were crucial for the Yankees, who had lost 12-1 to Boston on Saturday.
They needed to salvage the series somehow, and with a national audience watching, Chisholm delivered.
He's now up to 24 home runs this season in 98 games. Those add to his 11 homers last season in just 46 games with the Yankees after coming over at the 2024 trade deadline from the Marlins.

The quick math there is 35 home runs in 144 games with the Yankees.
Chisholm certainly enjoys his time in New York, and even playing with a heavy heart on Sunday, he delivered right when the Yankees needed him.
