Brewers players came out to the field with 'Ueck' on their uniforms, and they'll all be auctioned off for charity.
One of the numerous ways the Milwaukee Brewers are recognizing late broadcaster Bob Uecker on Aug. 24 includes the uniforms the players are wearing.
Instead of their usual last names stitched on the back of their home pinstriped uniforms, every Brewers jersey bears the word "Ueck," the shorthand nickname for the beloved Brewers personality.
The jerseys will be auctioned beginning at first pitch of the game between the Brewers and Giants, and all proceeds will support causes close to Uecker's heart, including the Wounded Warrior Project, the ALS Association and the Bob Uecker Chair in Pancreatic Cancer Research, part of the Medical College of Wisconsin.
