Shocking in a good way. More on the Aug. 20 episode from Glasgow, Scotland inside.
With Forbidden Door in London this Sunday, AEW is in the United Kingdom — specifically Glasgow, Scotland — for tonight’s Dynamite (a mega taping with Saturday’s Collision episode and some ROH on HonorClub action).
The portion of that show that includes the Aug. 20 Dynamite is a wrap, with spoilers floating around the web. Like these!
- Will Ospreay opens the show with a promo. He says he’s not cleared for this weekend, which is why he made the challenge for a Lights Out (unsanctioned) match. Jon Moxley and his Death Riders attack, but Hiroshi Tanahashi & JetSpeed made the save.
- Hiroshi Tanahashi & JetSpeed (Mike Bailey & Kevin Knight) def. The Death Riders (Jon Moxley, Wheeler Yuta & Claudio Castagnoli)
- Gabe Kidd arrives to help his guy Mox, and brings fellow New Japan WarDogs Drilla Maloney, Clark Conners and Robbie X. The Young Bucks show up to join the heel contingent, so Darby Allin, The Opps, and Kyle O’Reilly & Roderick Strong arrive for the faces. They brawl into the stands.
- Christian Cage and Adam Copeland are in the ring to talk when they’re confronted by their opponents this Sunday, Nick Wayne & Kip Sabian. Wayne reveals that he’s injured and will be replaced by Luchasaurus (who was being bullied by Cage as Killswitch when we last saw him before he was hospitalized with double pneumonia — which some feared could lead to the end of his career).
- FTR vs. Brodido ended in a time-limit draw, so Sunday’s Tag title match is now a 3-way defense for The Hurt Syndicate.
- Hangman Page was speaking to us when Maxwell Jacob Freidman appeared on the big screen. He was backstage with Ricochet & GOA, and they were holding Mark Briscoe “hostage”. To protect Briscoe, Page agreed that the AEW World title can change hands on a disqualification when he faces Friedman this weekend, and Max gets to keep his Casino Gauntlet contract, too.
- Mercedes Mone & Athena def. Toni Storm & Alex Windsor
Let us know what you make of all that below, and join us in our live blog tonight if you want to enjoy it all with your fellow Cagesiders. Collision spoilers should be along shortly, too.
