"Better days ahead, but just trying to take it one day at a time," said the star Celtics forward.
Fans of the Boston Celtics have heard very little from star Celtics forward Jayson Tatum since he went down with a torn Achilles tendon in the 2025 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals second round series vs. the New York Knicks. And given the difficulty of the rehab process for such an injury, it is not hard to imagine why the St. Louis native has kept a low profile since.
But this week, in a social media post (via Celtics Blog's Noa Dalzell), Tatum opened up about his injury, how he has been dealing with it, and what comes next for the Duke alum. "Rehab is tedious, man — six days a week. It’s starting to get a little bit better now, I’m out the boot now," said Tatum.
"Better days ahead, but just trying to take it one day at a time," added the recovering Celtics star. "That first six weeks of this, was probably the toughest six weeks of any point in my life."
"You have got to be resilient," suggested Tatum in the clip. "(Those) first six weeks of this were probably the toughest six weeks of any point in my life."
"I have just had to accept it and realize it happened, and now I have got to do everything in my power to get back to who I was."
