WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point senior quarterback Dewayne Coleman has been named to the 13th annual Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award Watch List. Coleman becomes the third consecutive Black Knight signal-caller to earn a spot on the prestigious list, following Bryson Daily’s selections in each of the past two seasons.

A native of Selma, Texas, Coleman made his first career start in place of an injured Daily against Air Force in 2024, becoming the first Army quarterback to win his starting debut since 2020.

Over his career, Coleman has appeared in 10 games, rushing 42 times for 144 yards and a touchdown. He has also completed 7-of-11 passes for 121 yards and a touchdown.

The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award honors the top offensive player in Division I football who exemplifies the enduring characteristics of Earl Campbell: integrity, performance, teamwork, sportsmanship, drive, community, and tenacity—specifically, the determination to overcome adversity and injury in pursuit of success. To be eligible, a nominee must also meet one of the following criteria: be born in Texas, have graduated from a Texas high school, have played at a Texas-based junior college, or be currently playing at a Texas Division I four-year college.

This year’s Watch List (complete list attached) includes:

  • 102 players from 9 conferences and 1 independent (American, ACC, Big 12, Big Ten, Conference USA, Mountain West, Pac-12, SEC, and Sun Belt)
  • Players representing Universities from 33 different states and 73 schools.
  • Quarterbacks lead the nominations with 31, followed by wide receivers (29), running backs (24), offensive linemen (13) and tight ends (5).

A player does not have to appear on the initial Watch List to be eligible to win the award.
