The Indiana Fever are entering the final stretch of the WNBA regular season, with just 10 games remaining before Sunday’s clash against the Connecticut Sun.

Currently holding an 18-16 record, the Fever have managed to stay competitive despite missing star point guard Caitlin Clark. Clark has appeared in just 13 games this season after suffering multiple lower-body injuries, the most recent being a groin injury sustained prior to the All-Star break.

Still, the team has struggled at times, dropping back-to-back games to the Dallas Wings (9-25) and the Washington Mystics (15-18). While the Fever are careful not to rush Clark’s return, the urgency to begin her ramp-up is growing if the hope is for her to play before the season ends.

Stephanie White Addresses Caitlin Clark Injury

Fever head coach Stephanie White addressed Clark’s potential return while giving no further specifics on her injury. When asked if Clark would return before the regular season concludes, White said, “That’s the hope. The hope is that she’s back.”

It’s certainly been a frustrating sophomore campaign for Caitlin Clark in the WNBA. While she was strong enough in her 13 games to earn a spot as an All-Star captain, her season has been plagued by untimely injuries.

Despite the setbacks, hope remains that a return from Clark could make the Fever a legit championship contender. With the talent spread across the roster—and standout seasons from Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell—if Clark can return and still effectively coexist with them on the court, Indiana could be a tough matchup for any opponent in the postseason.

Clark is currently averaging 16.5 points, 8.8 assists, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game, while shooting 36.7% from the field, 27.9% from 3-point range, and 82.0% from the free-throw line.
