Indiana Fever make big decision.

The Indiana Fever have been forced to play with several different lineups this season under the leadership of coach Stephanie White.

Indiana has played a majority of the season without Caitlin Clark. Without her, the Fever have struggled to find consistent play in the backcourt. Those efforts were hurt even more when Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald suffered season-ending injuries in the same game in early August.

Given the troubling state, the Fever signed Odyssey Sims to a seven-day contract. She played two games, in which Indiana went 0-2, before the team signed her to a second, seven-day hardship contract. The news came ahead of Sunday's game against the Connecticut Sun.

Before playing the Sun, Stephanie White decided to put Sims in the starting lineup. That led to Lexie Hull moving back to the bench after the Fever had lost to the Dallas Wings and the Washington Mystics with her in the starting lineup. While both guards, the two players do not play the same position or fill the same role. However, White needed a natural point guard on the floor. By starting Sims, it enabled White to move Sophie Cunningham back to her natural forward spot, which Hull had stepped into out of necessity when Cunningham was moved to the ball-handling role.

Sims gives the Fever much-needed help as a ball handler while Aliyah Boston, Kelsey Mitchell and Natasha Howard shoulder the scoring load. During the 2025 season, Sims has played two games with the Fever and 12 games with the Los Angeles Sparks. The guard has averaged 9.2 points, 2.6 rebounds and 3.4 assists per game.

Hull is in her fourth season with the Indiana Fever. During her time with the Fever, Hull has emerged as one of their best reserve guards.
