Plantation, Fla. — American Heritage Plantation is one of the top programs in the country, and its roster is filled with athletic D-1 prospects. One of the more athletic prospects on the 2025 roster is Florida State 2026 WR commit Brandon Bennett, who is one of the fastest high school athletes in Florida.
Bennett has clocked a 10.4 in the 100 meters, but could not catch up to Dia Bell‘s deep ball in a week zero against McArthur last week due to pulling up with a hamstring injury on the play. It would have been a sure touchdown, but the Patriots did enough to secure a 23-14 win.
“We definitely came out here and dominated. For the time that the starters were in, they were in there for two quarters. I got hurt at the beginning of the second quarter, but we definitely came out here and showed what the Heritage boys are about. I’m on offense, but I was excited to see the defense fly around.”
Bennett, who made his pledge to FSU in mid-June, remains locked in with the Seminoles despite other schools still pushing for a flip.
“Even before I committed, I believe the relationship was strong. After I committed, I felt like the relationship got stronger, and we just continued to build on that as time went on.”
Florida, Georgia, and Miami are still in contact with Bennett, hoping he will reconsider his commitment to the Seminoles, but he has no plans to visit other schools. Bennett does plan on being in Tallahassee for FSU’s week one tilt versus Alabama.
“I’m going up to Florida State for the Bama game, season-opener, but as for anything else, I don’t really have anything locked in. I’ll definitely will be a lot of Florida State games depending on the schedule.”
