The Detroit Tigers defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 4-2 at Comerica Park on Tuesday night, winning their second straight game in the series and improving their MLB-best record.

The Tigers and Rays conclude their three-game series on Thursday at 1:10 p.m. ET as the Tigers' roster of All-Star selections and potential All-Star replacements continues marching toward the July 15 break in Atlanta.

Following the game, Tigers designated hitter Colt Keith spoke with FanDuel Sports Network reporter Daniella Bruce, spilling the beans on the secret to his approach at the plate and how it's helped his power bat come alive in recent days.

"Colt Keith does it again," Bruce wrote on her X account. "2 for 3 with 3 RBI including the big swing to give the @tigers the lead in the 7th. The beard stays...at least for today #RepDetroit."

Keith hit his two-run shot in the seventh inning with two outs and Zach McKinstry on third base.

"How have you been able to establish the consistency at the plate that we've seen from you in this recent stretch?" Bruce asked Keith.

"Just making a routine and sticking to it every day. Coming in with a level heartbeat and not searching, that's kinda the key just having a good routine and not searching," Keith added.

Keith now has two home runs in two games against the Rays, piggybacking off of his teammates' power hitting success and stretching his home run total to eight on the season, along with a .269 batting average with 30 RBIs.
