The Los Angeles Dodgers are baseball's top team, a little more than halfway through the season. With the best record, the team is bound to be good. But there is still room to upgrade the roster.

According to Sonja Chen of MLB.com, the Dodgers' most significant trade deadline need is to add a left-handed hitting bat. The need is even more apparent with Michael Conforto being a major disappointment this season.

"Because Michael Conforto has yet to pick it up," MLB.com wrote. "A left-handed hitter with some pop could be a valuable addition to the lineup."

While Conforto's struggles were already an issue, his injury to Max Muncy has made his issues more of a problem. Before suffering a knee injury, which will keep him out for a while, Muncy was one of the best hitters for the Dodgers.

To bolster the lineup in his place, a new left-handed hitting bat is a must. Unfortunately, Conforto hasn't been able to be such a replacement. He has a .178 batting average and .611 OPS this season.

He's been one of the worst Dodgers hitters this season, and he's a clear spot to upgrade on at the MLB trade deadline. While not the most abundant position, there are a few solid options for the Dodgers to consider.

Baltimore Orioles center fielder Cedric Mullins is one name to keep in mind, as he's shown 30 home run potential and great defense in his career. Kyle Stowers and Jesus Sanchez of the Miami Marlins are two lefty hitters to remember at the trade deadline.

With plenty of teams involved in the outfield trade market, the Dodgers will have competition for their top targets. The Dodgers might have difficulty landing their ideal trade deadline target even with strong trade chips.

Whether they land their ideal player or not, the Dodgers' top trade deadline target in the eyes of Chen is a left-handed hitter. That player would, ideally, replace Conforto amid his season-long struggles.
