The Philadelphia Phillies could replace Bryson Stott with a low-cost All-Star in a proposed trade involving a struggling American League team.

The prices for players around Major League Baseball continue to be ridiculous, but it isn’t something the Philadelphia Phillies can frankly worry about too much.

The Phillies have an opportunity to win a World Series, and unless Dave Dombrowski doesn't want to go all in this year, he'll likely have to trade some of his top prospects.

However, there will be other ways for the Phillies to improve, such as by making under-the-radar trades.

Dylan Sanders recently proposed one, sending Devin Saltiban and Michael Mercado to the Minnesota Twins for Willi Castro. Castro, a switch-hitting infielder, is hitting .270 on the year with seven home runs.

“The trade: Philadelphia sends 2B Devin Saltiban and RHP Michael Mercado to Twins for Castro

“The Phillies haven't committed to adding a bat at the trade deadline, but they really should. If they end up just going for one, a guy like Castro makes sense. The 28-year-old has played every but first base and catcher during his career. He's a bit of a jack of all trades, master of none, but that versatility works for a team that could use help at different places. He's a switch-hitter that has posted a .273/.363/.432 slash line with seven home runs and eight stolen bases this year,” he wrote.

Castro was expected to be wanted around the league during the deadline. What the Twins plan to do remains uncertain, but many expect them to sell.

The Twins haven't had a great season, and with the Detroit Tigers running away with the American League Central, it feels all but certain that Minnesota will move on from some of its top players like Castro.
