See details of Texas Tech football's annual Red Raider Club kickoff luncheon, Meet the Red Raiders and Knights of Columbus Tech Night.
Texas Tech football fans have three opportunities this coming week to see Red Raiders coaches and/or players in events open to the public. Here's a summary of where you can catch Tech coach Joey McGuire and other Red Raiders before their Aug. 30 season opener against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Jones AT&T Stadium.
Red Raider Club kickoff luncheon
McGuire and Texas Tech athletics director Kirby Hocutt are the headline speakers for the annual event Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Memorial Civic Center.
Doors open at 11:15 a.m. and the program begins around noon in the main exhibit hall. Also on hand will be Texas Tech football players and members of the Tech cross country, volleyball and soccer teams. The Goin' Band from Raiderland and Tech spirit squads are scheduled to perform leading up to the program.
General admission tickets are $30. Reserved tables of eight are $750. They can be bought online at RedRaiderClub.com/events. More information is available by calling the Red Raider Club at (806) 742-1196 or sending an email to [email protected].
Meet the Red Raiders
Fans can meet and get autographs from McGuire and Tech players from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, inside the Sports Performance Center directly south of Jones AT&T Stadium. There is no charge for admission or parking, and fans are asked to park west of the stadium.
Tech athletics personnel will provide schedule posters. To accommodate all attendees, Tech is asking fans to adhere to one item per person to be autographed. Tech athletics ticket office personnel also will be on hand for fans interested in buying single-game tickets or minipacks for two of three non-conference games.
Knights of Columbus Tech Night
McGuire, offensive coordinator Mack Leftwich and defensive coordinator Shiel Wood are on the program for the Knights of Columbus' 64th Tech Night, scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 23.
The event takes place at the Knights of Columbus Hall located between Slide Road and Quaker Avenue at 4702 130th St. The gates open at 5 p.m. and a pulled-pork sandwich dinner will be served until 6:30 p.m., according to event organizers.
Tickets are $30 and can be bought at KOfCLubbock3008.org. Admission is free for ages 12 and under.
Tech Night includes an auction of Texas Tech and other sports memorabilia, as well as performances by the Goin' Band and Tech cheerleaders.
