The Indiana Fever have been snakebitten by injuries this year, from Caitlin Clark to Sophie Cunningham.

Clark, the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 WNBA Draft, has missed more than half of the Indiana Fever's regular season games due to injuries. She still hasn't returned from her latest leg injury, suffered in late July. It's unclear when the two-time WNBA All-Star will return, too.

Now, on Sunday, Cunningham - the veteran guard acquired in a trade with the Phoenix Mercury this offseason - has gone down with an injury, too.

It didn't look good.

Cunningham needed to be helped off the floor during the first half of Sunday afternoon's game against the Connecticut Sun.

The veteran WNBA guard was injured during a collision with Sun forward Bria Hartley.

"Sophie Cunningham heads to the locker room after this Hartley pass and crash on her right leg. Oh my god πŸ’”," one fan wrote.

WNBA fans are praying for Cunningham

Prayers are pouring in for the Indiana Fever guard on Sunday afternoon, following her crushing injury. It looked bad.

"Praying so hard for Sophie Cunningham! That did not look good for her knee 😞," one fan wrote.

"What a dirty play by Hartley. I am praying for Sophie Cunningham πŸ™. And calling out the referees," one fan added.

"Praying for Sophie Cunningham. The WNBA fines players for speaking the truth, but cares little for player safety by calling a consistent game," one fan added.

"Sophie Cunningham you carry the fire every night. We’re all pulling for you and praying for you. This team needs you so badly," one fan added.

"Prayers up to Sophie Cunningham. πŸ™πŸ™πŸ™ that it’s not a significant injury, but never seen her in that much pain," one fan added.

Sophie Cunningham injury diagnosis

While nothing official has come out yet, it looks like Cunningham suffered an injury to her right knee. Fever fans have to be hoping that it's just a bruise or perhaps a minor sprain. Any kind of serious sprain or tear could sideline her for weeks.

The Fever have already announced that she won't return on Sunday.

The Fever might have to play without both Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham for a bit moving forward.
