The Chicago Sky are playing on back-to-back days this week, starting with an early Tuesday game followed by a home matchup on Wednesday. When they return to Wintrust Arena, they'll welcome Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.

Head coach Tyler Marsh has plenty to manage, but there's a chance the team could get a big boost to the lineup.

Kamilla Cardoso, the second-year center out of South Carolina, has been sidelined since June 24 after joining Brazil’s national team for AmeriCup action. She last played against the Los Angeles Sparks before leaving for international duty.

Before Tuesday’s game, Cardoso was ruled out, but there was optimism that she could return in time for the Wednesday matchup. During a pregame interview, Marsh confirmed the team was hopeful.

“Coach Marsh mentions that the team is hopeful that Kamilla Cardoso will be joining the team tomorrow in Chicago,” reported Chicago State of Mind Sports.

Cardoso had her best performance of the season in her last game before the break. On June 24, she scored a season-high 27 points in 29 minutes and added seven rebounds.

Through 14 games this season, Cardoso is averaging 12.7 points and 6.6 rebounds. She and Angel Reese form a promising frontcourt duo. Reese has stepped up in Cardoso’s absence, recording five straight double-doubles heading into Tuesday's game.

The Sky began Tuesday with just five wins on the season and have dropped seven of their last ten games. Before Tuesday's game against the Mystics, they were 1-2 while Cardoso was away.

Wednesday’s game against Dallas kicks off a four-game home stand. After the Wings, the Sky will host the Minnesota Lynx for two straight games before facing Atlanta ahead of the WNBA All-Star break.
