Penn State wrestling will host a Big 12 school during the 2025-2026 season. But, it might not be the one you are thinking of. According to the schedule posted alone by the Sooners this weekend, Oklahoma (and not Oklahoma State) will come to State College to meet the Nittany Lions on Fri., Nov. 14. It’s part of a multi-day stop in the Keystone State for head coach Roger Kish’s team. It will wrestle a dual with Bucknell on Nov. 15, as well.

Oklahoma has former Penn State national champ and former Nittany Lions All-American Mark Hall on staff as its director of operations.

“We’re really looking forward to the upcoming season,” Kish said in a news release. “We’ve added a lot of new faces who bring a strong mix of proven talent and veteran leadership. Our regular season schedule is going to be challenging, which will put us in a great position to prepare for both the Big 12 Championship and NCAA Championships.”

It’s the second confirmed non-conference date for the Nittany Lions during the 2025-2026 season. Penn State will travel to Drexel for a dual on Dec. 5. The rest of the team’s schedule is not yet out. But, we also know its Big Ten opponents. Head coach Cael Sanderson’s team will face the following:

Home Big Ten duals: Ohio StateNebraskaIndiana, and Rutgers.

Away Big Ten duals: IowaMarylandMichigan, and Northwestern.

Penn State wrestlers are underway at the U20 World Championships

The U20 World Wrestling Championships kicked off early Sunday morning in Bulgaria. Two of the five Penn State wrestlers who are part of Team USA started their quest for a gold medal then. Incoming freshman PJ Duke will wrestle for gold Monday after a perfect day Sunday in the 70-kilogram (154.3 pounds) men’s freestyle bracket. Redshirt freshman Cole Mirasola is in the 125-kilogram (275.5 pounds) bracket bronze medal match after losing his semifinal bout. A full recap of both wrestlers’ day is here.

The U20 World Championships continue through Wednesday. Here’s the rest of the schedule:

Marcus Blaze (61 kilograms: Tuesday/Wednesday): Blaze was third at this event a year ago, where he lost to new teammate Masanosuke Ono of Japan, who went on to win gold. The Nittany Lion is also part of the U.S. Senior World Team after finishing true third at Final X earlier this summer. He enters this year’s U20s as the favorite. His tournament starts opposite Sandro Hungerbuehle of Switzerland in a qualification round bout.

William Henckel (79 kilograms: Monday/Tuesday): Another member of the Penn State Class of 2025 like Blaze and Duke, Henckel won U20 Pan Ams this summer but has never competed on this stage. His tournament begins with Maksat Tabyldyev of Kyrgyzstan in the qualification round.

Connor Mirasola (92 kilograms: Monday/Tuesday): The Penn State won U20 and U23 Pan-Ams this year and was fifth at U20 Worlds last year. He is part of an absolutely loaded weight class. His tournament starts with a qualification round match against China’s Zixu Yuan.
