Anthony Davis. Karl-Anthony Towns. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. These are the names that come to mind when you think of the elite professional basketball players who played at Kentucky. However, none of these guys holds the record Rhyne Howard now does for their franchise.

Howard sank her first 3-point attempt of the game on Friday night, making her the all-team leader in 3-pointers made for the Atlanta Dream. She eclipsed Tiffany Hayes’ previous milestone of 325 and shows no sign of topping out any time soon.

In just her fourth year in the WNBA, Howard has made the All-Star team three times and has been on a tear this season. She has done most of her damage from deep, with over half of her field goals made coming from behind the 3-point line. Back in June, she tied the WNBA record with nine made 3-pointers in a single game.

Howard’s record-breaking game came just two days after she scored six points in three seconds, which has to be some kind of record in its own right.

If it weren’t for an injury that kept her out of the entire month of July, her numbers would be even more impressive, but she remains one of the best players (and shooters) in the W. That’s right, she is outperforming the almighty Caitlin Clark from 3 this season, shooting a full three percentage points better than the face of the WNBA.

Congrats to Rhyne Howard, perhaps one of the best former Kentucky basketball players the WNBA will ever see.
