Yankees' Jasson Dominguez decision leaves fans upset.
Yankees' Jasson Dominguez Decision Before Twins Matchup Leaves Fans Upset originally appeared on Athlon Sports.
The New York Yankees are slipping behind in the AL East, holding a 64-56 record and six games behind the Toronto Blue Jays heading into their Wednesday matchup against the Minnesota Twins.
One player who could help in this final stretch of the season is rookie outfielder Jasson Dominguez, who in 99 games has accumulated 332 at-bats, 84 hits, 50 runs scored, nine home runs, 37 RBIs and a .719 OPS.
However, his role with the Yankees is becoming more limited, and on Wednesday, manager Aaron Boone decided to keep Dominguez—also nicknamed "The Martian"—out of the starting lineup for the third straight time.

Fans Tired of Seeing Dominguez Ride the Bench
Quickly after the lineup was announced, many Yankees fans took to the comments to voice displeasure with the outfielder once again sitting.
"Now im saying it, where the (expletive) is Dominguez? Bench Grisham today bro. Put Jasson in the leadoff spot! What the hell?!? And sweep these twins," said one comment.
"No Dominguez for the 3rd day in a row#imout," said another.
"Where is Dominguez??? Fire Boone," a third added.
A fourth stated, "The Martian has been banished to the Netherworld."
"So Dominguez might as well go back to AAA… smh," a fifth continued.
"PLEASE TAKE OUT GRISHAM AND GIVE US DOMINGUEZ," said another.
Dominguez's Numbers Compared to Other Yankees Outfielders
Dominguez certainly does possess a lot of potential, even being labeled as the organization's top prospect in 2024. That is a big reason that fans want to see him on the field more.
However, when looking at his stats compared to New York's starting outfield on Wednesday, consisting of Giancarlo Stanton (RF), Trent Grisham (CF) and Cody Bellinger (LF), his numbers don't stack up.
Dominguez's OPS of .719 is considerably lower than the other three, with Stanton sitting at .962 (140 at-bats), Bellinger at .808 (431 at-bats) and Grisham at .804 (348 at-bats).
The Yankees have already won the first two matchups of this three-game series with the Twins, using the same outfield, proving that the combination without Dominguez has been successful.
Considering that New York is only sitting in the third AL wild card spot with the Cleveland Guardians just one game back, playing to their strengths is crucial.
