Arch Manning is the heavy favorite to win the Heisman.

Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning served as the backup for now-Miami Dolphins signal caller Quinn Ewers for the past two seasons. Although he wasn't the full-time starter in 2024, he did throw for 939 yards and nine touchdowns, while rushing for another four scores and also racked up two starts.
While many fans felt that Manning, who was the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2023 class and nephew of two-time Super Bowl champions Peyton and Eli Manning, could have led Texas to a title last season, Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian never turned his back on Ewers. The Longhorns ultimately fell in the semifinal round of the College Football Playoff to the Ohio State Buckeyes, and now that Manning is the starter, many are expecting big things from the New Orleans native.
Despite just two career starts to his name, Manning has been in the driver's seat for the Heisman race this offseason. While other names such as Clemson's Cade Klubnik, LSU's Garrett Nussmeier and South Carolina's LaNorris Sellers have all been popular selections, the oddsmakers at BetMGM have Manning as the heavy favorite.
On Wednesday, Manning's odds took a slight hit, yet he still finds himself being a large favorite.

Texas' Heisman History Hasn't Always Gone in Favor of Quarterbacks
Despite being one of college football's premier programs, Texas has just two Heisman Trophy Winners. Running back Earl Campbell brought home the program's first in 1977, before Ricky Williams notched the second in 1998.
Both Vince Young (2005) and Colt McCoy (2008) were finalists, but ultimately lost to Reggie Bush and Sam Bradford, respectively.
If Manning were to do what the legends before him couldn't, the hype around him would only grow. He and the No. 1 Longhorns open the season on Aug. 30 against the No. 3 Buckeyes.
