Arch Manning will get a lot of fanfare and coverage this season, more than any recent college football player we’ve seen. Maybe since Tim Tebow, if Paul Finebaum gave his thoughts!

Opposing coaches have seen the tape and publicity. It’s hard to have a negative opinion of the youngest Manning quarterback in the spotlight, but the hype might be way too much for any player to live up to.

He has a Hall of Fame uncle and potentially a second if Eli Manning gets voted in soon. Coming from football royalty, Arch Manning has a gargantuan amount of pressure.

“He’s getting a lot of publicity, but he seems like a pretty level-headed kid,” a coach who will face Manning this fall said, via ESPN. “It doesn’t seem like he bought into the hype.”

In fact, Manning handling everything that’s been thrown at him garnered a lot of respect. It’s actually amazing, in this day and age, that Manning barely uses social media.

“You’ve got a ton of respect for the kid,” an SEC coach said, “handling what is an insane situation.” It’s like he’s a 10-year veteran already!

Manning showed flashes over the course of two seasons with Texas. He’s got the arm and mobility, skill that a lot of quarterbacks would kill for. He just has to prove it over the course of an entire season.

“He’s going to be a good player,” another SEC coach said. “The hype that it’s been, it’s impossible to reach.”

Mississippi State coach Jeff Lebby actually described how to stop Manning. He’s already a guy teams are game planning for, even if the experience doesn’t match the hype.

“You’ve got to find ways to get him off platform,” Lebby told ESPN. “For a guy who hadn’t played a ton up to that point inside that game, man, he was really, really calm. He had great demeanor, and he had command of what Sark and his staff was trying to accomplish.”

In the two starts, Manning completed 41-of-his-60 pass attempts for 583 yards and four touchdowns while only throwing two interceptions. He also recorded 29 rushing yards and a touchdown.

Most experts aren’t expecting Arch Manning to enter the NFL Draft after this season, but instead opt for the 2027 draft. Last week, Manning’s grandfather, Archie, seemed to confirm this belief.

Texas fans and NFL scouts alike won’t have to wait much longer to see Arch Manning’s skills put to the test. On Aug. 30, Texas will face off against Ohio State in its season opener at noon ET. The game will air live on FOX.
